Funerals

"I am the resurrection and the life" says the Lord, "The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die." (John 11:25)

Jesus spoke these words to the grieving sister of Lazarus, a few days after her brother had died. The Christian hope of eternal life lies in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. Through his resurrection, he is able to offer real hope of life beyond death for those who accept his invitation to trust in him.

At St Peter's Church we can conduct a Christian funeral and offer a full burial or internement of ashes in our churchyard. The Church of England provides useful resources here.

To help you consider your own funeral, please see here

To have ashes of a loved one interred in the churchyard please see here.

In late October/early November we hold a service called Living with Loss for those who have lost loved ones.

If you have recently lost a loved one, or are planning for your own funeral, then please contact us on 01737 423892.
